A scalar field given by a formula in x, y and z, such as sin(x) * 2 + z. The formula may also call the math functions (sqrt, clamp, floor, …) and name its Variables and the constants pi, tau, e and phi. Numbers carry no unit: the formula computes in mm and radians, so a number written with a unit (5 mm) is refused, as are the functions of vectors (dot, cross); a Formula block reads both. A formula computes at most 64 steps. Wire it wherever a block takes a field, for example a lattice's thickness.
Optional Dictionary of names to numbers; each name may be used in the formula and takes that value. x, y and z cannot be overridden.
The formula. It may name x, y, z (upper case works too), the constants pi, tau, e and phi, and Variables, and call the math functions; any other name is an error.
Values the block gives besides its output. The editor lists them under Properties, and an input can read one by reference.
The field read as a Solid whose surface is where the field is zero.
The box the field is evaluated in.
The field with its sign flipped (−f), which swaps inside and outside.
The field divided by its gradient length (f/|∇f|) so it reads close to a true distance; the zero set does not move.
