Items of one kind in a fixed order, one row each: bodies, fields, numbers, points, curves, limits, anything. A number may be typed into a row, with or without its unit; without one it reads in the unit of the input the list feeds. The list's kind is its rows' kind; a row that is itself a list adds its items.
